Story

Story I

For a decade, Kate reigned supreme in the roller skating world, undefeated. It's a claim met with universal disbelief, yet undeniably true. Because she had never entered a single official race. No sponsor would spare a glance for a dirt-poor kid who couldn't even afford entry fees. The only races Kate ever won were in her dreams. In those dreams, she was gliding across the finish line in brand-new skates, the crowd roaring her name. Then, wham, the alarm clock would shatter the fantasy. Time to scramble out the window before the landlord came banging on the door, looking for rent.

Story II 🔒 1★

Then, one rain-soaked day, a tattered recruitment poster in the rundown district caught her eye: 'Isle of the Banished: Bounty Hunters Wanted! Rich Rewards, No Experience Needed.' She glanced at her worn-out skates, a spark igniting within her. Running is running, she thought. Chasing crooks can't be that different from running from debt. So she packed her bags and headed straight to Isle of the Banished, ready to make a name for herself as a bounty hunter.

Story III 🔒 2★

Kate's first bounty was a two-bit thief trying to make a getaway. The guy barely made it three hundred meters down the alley when he heard the whir of roller skates closing in fast. Next thing he knew, a skate was planted squarely on his back. Kate used her first payday to upgrade her ride – real racing bearings at last! Now, she finally had a decent pair of skates. With the new gear, she started taking on tougher gigs, turning the whole city into her playground: alleyways to rooftops, abandoned factories to cross-sea bridges at midnight. The whole place was hers for the taking.

Story IV 🔒 3★

Yet, amidst the grime and danger, Kate never abandoned her original aspiration: to be a recognized roller skating athlete. She was, at heart, still just a dreamer who'd taken a detour through the underworld to reach the starting line. Every time she laced up her beat-up skates, fingers brushing the worn leather, she didn't see the bounty money. She saw the gleaming track she'd only glimpsed in her dreams. She treated every chase like a qualifying heat, every target like a future rival. Kate knew, deep down, that one day, her dream would finally take flight.
